HISTORY

The Claire Buckley School of Dancing was established in September 1999 by Claire Buckley who has been dancing since the age of three years. Claire began her dancing career and gained her teaching qualification at The Sylvera School of Dancing.

Claire’s love of Dance and becoming a qualified Danced Teacher with IDTA led to the opening The Claire Buckley School of Dance in Higham, Kent whilst having a young family. Dance Classes were becoming increasingly popular with the Local Community where Claire offered Classes in Ballet, Tap and Jazz. These Classes soon expanded as numbers grew.

Classes expanded to Cliffe and Hoo, now offering Ballet, Tap, jazz and Street dancing.

We also have our Popular Musical theatre classes running on Saturday mornings, currently in Cliffe.

In 2005 Classes were moved to Cliffe Woods Primary School for more space. The School now has Classes running on Tuesday’s in Higham, Kent and Wednesday’s and Thursday’s in Cliffe Woods, Kent.

The Claire Buckley School of Dancing hold a show every year at The Brook Theatre in Chatham and have previously entered children into Exams following the IDTA Syllabus.

In 2017 the school entered their first competition and qualified to the finals in Blackpool gaining 3rd place in our category.
